East Ayrshire Radio Society is a 'not for profit' voluntary organisation started in 2012 to help people discover and develop their interest in the many aspects of radio communications.

Our primary goal is to help people enjoy learning how different radio communications technologies work. By understanding how things work they can be used effectively and efficiently.

There are numerous devices and wireless technologies in daily use that are license exempt. Anyone can use them within specified guidelines, such as WiFi access points, mesh networks, bluetooth devices, GPS navigation and more.

There are also a great many amateur radio operators who are licensed to experiment with radio communications equipment and a rapidly growing range of modes and methods 

Some are happy to just purchase and operate commercially available equipment while others are more involved with the technical and experimental aspects of amateur radio.
